Liberry

I think I forgot how to read.

I used to be able to do it. I’d do it all the time. Heck, I majored in it. I now find it easier to envision myself making it into the 2006 Winter Olympics that finishing a book by the time they start. I just can’t seem to focus on it the way I used to.

I think the issue is that I try to read either A) snottily intellectual books or B) books I’ve already read. How am I supposed to stay interested in that? So, I turn to you, gentle reader: any good books I should pick up?

Lately I’ve found myself starting books, getting with in 50 pages of finishing and then I give up. They just seem to lose my interest. It happened with Blink and Stiff.

After a quick glance at my shelves, how about

Pattern Recognition by William Gibson
A Trip to the Stars by Nicholas Christopher
The Piano Tuner by Daniel Mason
Queen of the South by Arturo Perez Reverte

or any of the original James Bond novels by Ian Fleming. Did you know that he wrote Chitty Chitty Bang Bang? Weird.

you wanna find regular books interesting and enticing again? i’ll loan you some finance and acctg books. after that, even the artvoice will bring a smile to your face and joy to your heart. seriously.
