Capital."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As I plowed through a writing project this weekend, I caught myself typing the stale phrase &#8220;that rarest of species&#8221;.  I know, I really am that stuffy.  Maybe it&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.matthewpearl.com\/dante\/dante.html\"><span style=\"font-style: italic;\">The Dante Club<\/span><\/a>,  maybe the <a href=\"http:\/\/www3.telus.net\/yve\/\"><span style=\"font-style: italic;\">Pride and Prejudice<\/span><\/a>, but my English has become substantially more Queen&#8217;s recently, probably to the same degree as <a href=\"http:\/\/dadmayhavebeenright.blogspot.com\/\">Johnny<\/a>&#8216;s has become Queens. <\/p>\n<p>Either way, I struck the phrase, assuming I was unconsciously quoting something.  Damned if I can figure out what though.  I mere <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=%22that+rarest+of+species%22\">googling<\/a> returns a litany of articles using the phrase, but no source.  I tried Shakespeare and the KJV.  Even a thorough <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bartleby.com\/cgi-bin\/texis\/webinator\/sitesearch?FILTER=&#038;query=%22rarest+of+species%22&amp;x=6&#038;y=4\">bartleby <\/a>session turned up nought.  (See?  Who uses &#8216;nought&#8217;?)<\/p>\n<p>Anybody got anything on this?  I mean, it must have come from <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">somewhere<\/span>.  Three cheers to you if you find it.
